This week's writing report:
I write weekdays from 6am to 7am Pacific. Join me!
Monday:
I’m largely impatient with myself that this whole book isn’t written already. I mean, come on, it’s been a couple of weeks already! LOL. Powered through several paragraphs of a chapter and remembered that I really dislike writing exposition (setting the stage). There are lots of statements peppered through like more about the food here! and what is she wearing?
Tuesday:
Attitude check: impatient still, but also determined to get this written, and terrified of the result. Seems about right. Finished the chapter from yesterday, continuing to skip over large swaths of description.
Wednesday:
I’m not going to lie to you. I went back to when I discovered I was alone on Zoom.
Thursday:
Uh-oh, a Shiny New Object has emerged! A story idea from a year ago came back to visit me today, and I was really tempted just to hop over to it. I managed to stick to the plan for today, but it’s still hanging around! Wrote about 500 words and did some brainstorming.
Friday:
Today I took my own advice and chose playfulness instead of being Oh So Serious about everything. I started a scene where the characters are avoiding each other at a wedding, and it flowed easily. Maybe this is the answer? (For today it was, anyway.) Wrote about 750 words.
I share this regular update because it is all progress. One sentence is progress. Showing up is progress. No one is doing "better" than you. I promise.

How is your writing going this week?
Thanks for sharing! I need to get back to attending the daily sessions more regularly. It makes me feel better to see your own stop and starts so I know I'm not the only one :)
